where I live and work
about brigitte brüggemann studio
In 2021 I made the decision to leave my place on the Pecos River and have moved to Eldorado at Santa Fe. I have lived the isolation and solitude for almost 30 years, it has influenced my work. Now I am closer to Santa Fe, but am still surrounded by wide open meadows and expansive views.I will enjoy the comfort of being more connected, in a neighborhood where many artists choose to live.
I have built a studio next to my house and my garden has been a joy to plant and to see it grow, the studio is ready to receive visitors, my paintings will have a little show room and I have a bright space to work in, what is next with the work? A new chapter is beginning, stay tuned and come to visit if you are in Santa Fe.
My memoir: "Growing Wings, A Story of Becoming"
I have been working on this book for the last two years is now published. It includes images of my work, stories of my growing up during WWII and postwar Germany, places I have lived and events that have taken me on a journey like the river is going to the ocean. The book is available at the Studio and at Garcia Street Books in Santa Fe NM
I am happy to welcome you for a studio visit. Let me know if you are in town I would love to see you and share the work and my new place, a work in progress.
