Raindance
Raindance
16 x 18 Giclee Print

After watching a Corn Dance at Cochiti Pueblo one summer, I came home
through a downpour of rain that started at 3 pm, and I did this piece.
The symbols and marks refer to rain; abundance and the houseboat came in
with thoughts of Noah's Ark.The boat and the house both are symbolic shapes
that I love. I use them quite often to speak about the journey of life (boat as
vessel) and the house as a representation of the self, my body. Other
artists who speak about the life of a woman have quite often used the house
shape.
